About
Mazin drains the eastern slopes of the Ras Mu'akaf ridge and drops through the escarpment to the Dead Sea shore near Avnat. The loop is short, about five and a half kilometres, but its drops are high and come one after another.
From Avnat climb the green trail of Ma'ale Mazin to the plateau. After the junction with the blue trail the green one turns west and south and crosses the bed, about four hundred metres before the first drop. After it come small falls and shallow pools, then a run of high drops. Near the end there is a low drop in two steps with a pool between them, then the last drop, in two steps.
A little below the first drop a side gully joins from the north, which gives another way into the stream. From the foot of the last drop the green trail crosses the stream and returns to Avnat.

Weather constraints
מים רק אחרי שטפונות, ללא חובת שחייה
Recommendations
Suits groups with experience on high rappels. To skip the first drop, enter through the side gully.
Equipment
Full rappelling gear, a helmet, a rope protector, plenty of water, and a rope long enough for the highest drop.
