About
The rappelling site is on the rim of Makhtesh Ramon, a short walk from the lookout parking next to the visitor center. The cliff has stations with fixed chemical anchors, and the rappels mix slab and overhanging sections.
It suits people who have never rappelled, and the view over the crater, its rock layers and Mount Ardon is a big part of the experience. This is probably the same cliff that is also listed as the Mitzpe Ramon cliff.
Access notes
From Route 40 enter Mitzpe Ramon and drive to the lookout parking by the visitor center at the edge of town. From there it is a short walk to the cliff edge.

Safety
There is no shade on the cliff. In summer rappel early in the morning or in the afternoon, and in winter dress in layers. After rain the rock is slippery.
Weather constraints

Recommendations
