About

Nahal Yehudiya flows through the Yehudiya reserve south of Katzrin, which has several routes through the pools and waterfalls of this stream and of Nahal Zavitan. Swimming and entering the water are allowed, and the Yehudiya route requires being able to swim.

In recent years rocks have collapsed from the canyon cliffs, so its popular part has been closed to hikers, and the descent to the Zavitan falls on the blue trail is also closed for safety. The data records no rappels in Nahal Yehudiya itself. Rope activity in the reserve is documented in the Black Canyon of Nahal Zavitan.

Getting there

7 ק"מ מזרחית לצומת יהודיה על כביש מספר 87 (יהודיה - חושניה) לכיוון קצרין. כ- 5.5 ק"מ מדרום לקצרין.

Access notes

The entrance is off Route 87, east of Yehudiya junction toward Katzrin and south of Katzrin, at the Yehudiya parking. Entry is paid, and some routes require booking and registration in advance at the reserve office.

Parking

The Yehudiya parking, the reserve's main entrance, with an information center, toilets, shaded picnic areas, water taps and a group gathering area.

Safety

The popular part of the canyon is closed due to rockfalls, and the descent to the Zavitan falls on the blue trail is closed. Each route has its own last entry time, and entry to the reserve closes early. Wolves and wild boar live in the reserve, and vultures nest there.

Recommendations

Good for water hikes with groups who swim well, from spring to late summer. Check which routes are open before your visit, and book ahead. For a rope activity, plan the Black Canyon.
