About

Nahal Prat flows through a cliff-lined gorge between Jerusalem and Jericho, in an Israel Nature and Parks Authority reserve. The reserve has two main sites: Ein Prat, with paid entry through the settlement of Almon, and Ein Mabua, the pulsing spring, with free entry.

Rope activity in the stream centres on the Ein Prat cliff, which is listed in the catalog as a separate place. Some trails in the reserve are closed, and in certain stretches entering the water is forbidden, so check the current status before every visit.

Access notes

For Ein Prat set Waze to 'שמורת טבע עין פרת'; the entrance is through the settlement of Almon-Anatot. For Ein Mabua set it to 'חניה עין מבוע'. Entry to both sites is by advance booking only. In the heart of the gorge there is also the Pipes parking (Hanyon HaTzinorot), a starting point for walks up or down the stream.

Parking

At Ein Prat buses park in the upper lot only, and on holidays there is no bus access. Disabled parking is in the lower lot at Ein Prat and the parking next to Ein Mabua, subject to space.
